Friday The 13th: The Game release date trailer

Developer Gun Media have announced via their YouTube channel that their upcoming survival horror game based on the Friday The 13th movie franchise will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 26th May

Friday The 13th: The Game has been rated by ESRB as Mature, which was inevitable considering the amount of violence and gore we’ve seen in previous footage of the game – so expect the game to receive the equivalent PEGI 18 rating for the European release.

The trailer features footage of a bunch of frightened teens making preparations for either fight or flight again Jason, either arming themselves with whatever’s at hand, barricading themselves into their current location and trying to make good their escapes as Voorhees approaches. What follows is absolute carnage, followed by the entrance of series protagonist Tommy Jarvis (who becomes playable when certain conditions are met).

I’ve been keeping a very close eye on the game’s progression, from its hugely successful Kickstarter campaign and its release slippage due to the inclusion of a single player mode and Tommy Jarvis amongst other factors. As a fan of the movie franchise, I cannot wait to get stuck into what looks to be a unique gaming experience.
